Constraints on higher-spin interactions in three dimensions

Higher-spin gauge theories are interesting generalisations of Maxwell theory and gravity. Starting from the linear equations of motion for free Fronsdal higher-spin fields, one can follow the Noether procedure and add non-linear terms order by order in such a way that higher-spin gauge invariance is preserved. I will discuss recent results showing that the structure of such terms is highly constrained in three dimensions.
