12 - Derivatized polysaccharides on silica and hybridized with silica in chromatography and separation—A mini review

Surface-modified porous silica materials are widely used in stereoselective chromatography. The subjects of this mini review are recent trends and developments in the research field of silica-based polysaccharide-type chiral stationary phases for chromatographic applications with emphasis on the developments in the last 2–3 years. The focus is in particular set on developments in synthesis, material modification, analytical applications, and resulting consequences for future developments. Besides the surface-modified porous silica materials, polysaccharide-silica hybrid and composite materials for other separation applications are also briefly summarized. These represent a supplement especially in the field of technical applications.
