Abstract
The effectiveness of market-radical economics in technical and digital development has been contested since no later than the rise of the global pandemic. Nonetheless, the monetization logistics of the private sector are still used in connection with all public programs to support research and development. These are precisely thesame logisticsthat prevent urgently needed sustainable, creative, digital development – designed on an open source basis and in collaboration with non-commercial NGOs and community media – in which a broad spectrum of society would otherwise be able to participate. This article, illustrated witha variety ofexamples, elucidates the necessity of suchnonprofit technology and infrastructure development.
