Abstract

Within multinational companies R&D projects consisting of several tasks need to be assigned to employees at dispersed locations. The tasks require different skill levels in various domains and - if assigned - employees can learn and hence improve their skills. Furthermore we consider dynamic task durations depending on the employees’ skill level including coordination efforts due to the distance between the employees involved. We present an MILP-formulation and solve the problem heuristically.
