Abstract

Light green to nearly colorless crystals of PbFe[AsO4][AsO3(OH)] were synthesized under moderate hydrothermal conditions. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/n, with a 4.846(2), b 8.482(4), c 15.560(6) .ANG., beta 92.82(3)°; Z = 4, dc = 5.64; R = 0.042, Rw = 0.031 for 1545 reflections. At. coordinates are given. The crystal structure was characterized by a three-dimensional corner-connection of the FeO6 octahedra with the arsenate tetrahedra and the protonated arsenate groups. Each two PbO7 polyhedra are edge-connected to Pb2O12 dimers which are located within interstitial holes.
