The University of Vienna is a strongly research-oriented university of high international visibility. It is one of the oldest universities in Europe, founded in 1365. With 15 faculties and 5 centres, the University of Vienna is one of the largest universities in Europe. Its approximately 7,000 academics conduct research in an exceptionally broad range of disciplines and cover topics ranging from basic to applied research.
