Description

One of the most important findings in agricultural history in recent years is the archaeological evidence, made possible by interdisciplinary research, that field grass farming was already practiced in Roman times. Roman times field grass farming was practiced. The first part of the lecture will refer to current research of the University of Vienna on this topic in Tuscany. In the second part of the lecture will deal with the characteristics of the finds. Finally, the question will be addressed whether field grass farming was also practiced in the northern provinces in Roman times. in the northern provinces in Roman times.
