Invited talk: Indian democracy

Description

This invited film talk offered a historical overview of the development of democracy and the rule of law in India, and discussed recent reports about the turn toward majoritarianism. The talk was held in Dutch at the theatre Rialto in Amsterdam for students and lecturers of the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam (HvA), department of teacher education in social sciences ("Lerarenopleiding Maatschappijleer"). The talk provided a contextual and conceptual background to the documentary film "Writing with Fire", which was screened directly after the talk.
