Description

How can planning navigate between, and potentially reconcile, different justice perspectives to achieve fair outcomes in practice? To address this question, the roundtable brought together both theoretical and empirical researchers studying planning across global contexts, including South Africa, North America, and Europe. Discussions focused on:

1. How to conceptualize and pursue just planning in light of vastly different governance regimes and circumstances across the globe.
2. Ways to argue for, combine, and articulate different distributive rules to foster understanding and fair decision-making in planning practice.
3. The insights and limitations justice theories offer for navigating societal diversity in planning tasks.
