    Description

Generally the ability of the spICPMS technique to detect smaller nanoparticles is limited by the presence of dissolved metal; the signal intensities of dissolved metal overlap with nanoparticle signal intensities what means an increase in particle size detection limit. To improve the size detection limits by removing the dissolved metal hollow-fiber ultrafiltration prior spICPMS was employed. The applicability and the efficiency of this approach were tested on gold nanoparticles in the presence of various concentration of dissolved gold standard. The method was further tested on Ag nanoparticles.
