Description
The civilizations of the Ancient Silk Road networks are rightfully famous for their cultural multiplicity. The study of this multidimensional heritage requires not only a high degree of interdisciplinary research and methodologies but, crucially, the knowledge of various ancient languages to get insights through original materials and documents. The Summer School aimed at providing students and junior scholars with exactly this knowledge. We offered courses in:- Bactrian (Indo-European: Middle-Iranian) – Melanie Malzahn
- Tocharian (Indo-European) – Hannes A. Fellner
- Tangut (Sino-Tibetan) – Xun Gong
- Gandhari (Indo-European: Middle-Indic) – Angelo Mascheroni
