My research focesses aspects of historical sociolinguistics:
- language contact of German and Slavic languages/varieties
- historical multilingualism in Austria
- language politics and language managment in education
- historical discourses on multilingualism
Within this research I use methods from the following linguistic subdiciplines:
- variationist linguistics
- corpus linguistics
- discourse linguistics
- (meta-)lexicography
