Personal profile
Research interests
My research focuses on Greek storytelling in Norman Sicily, retracing connections between the diverse literary traditions (Arabic, Greek, Latin, and early Italian) of the Island. My main source is the Greek-Sicilian version of Kalilah wa-Dimnah, an Arabic book of fables with educative purposes that was very popular in the Eurasian Middle Ages, and whose rewritings are often associated with shifts of power.
My broader research interests include Arabo-Greek studies, translation studies, cultural history, theory of literature, and narratology.
