Research interests

My current PhD research focuses on represetations of Ottomans in visual aspects (mainly stage and costume design) of performance and festival culture in Vienna before 1800. Other topics and areas of research I am involved in include the history of stage design and theater architecture and ephemeral architecture of the Baroque period. I am also a practicing stage designer and thus foster the overlaps between historical research and contemporary creative work.
