Personal profile
Research interests
- Currently, my research endeavors revolve around the integrated mineralogical, crystallographic and petrographical analysis of complex micro-structures like clouding, exsolution and reaction rims from high grade metamorphic rocks. I have worked on the formation of corona texture to understand the role of multiple competing factors controlling their structure.
- Formation of fluid-altered black-wall rocks within a Proterozoic shear zone has also been the focus of my study. The primary aim of this work is to gain insights into the impact of fluid character and element mobility on the formation of extremely high aluminous minerals in localized domains.
- Furthermore, my research interests extend to the investigation of formation and stability of minerals, along with the development of various micro-textures within rocks with the help of themodynamic modelling techniques. I have made contributions to this field by enhancing our understanding of how the presence of fluorine (F) influences the thermodynamic stability of vesuvianite-garnet assemblages in calc-silicate rocks and the role of F in aluminum substitution in titanites.
- I am also deeply engaged in the study of the petro-tectonic evolution of orogenic belts and their role within different supercontinental cycles using the principles of metamorphic petrology geochemistry and geochronology. I worked on the evolution of Proterozoic polymetamorphic terranes of India to unravel their complex metamorphic and magmatic histories.
