Curriculum vitae

Erich Schikuta studied Computer Science, Business Informatics and Mathematics at the University of Technology Vienna (UTV) and the University of Vienna (UV). Since 1997 he is associate professor at the UV, where he held, besides his research and teaching duties, various administrative positions. Amongst others he was head of the Curricular Commission of CS, Deputy Director of the PhD Programme, and (founding) Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science. At the moment he is Head of the Research Group Workflow Systems and Technology.

His research interests are in the area of Information and Database Systems, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Cloud Computing and Neural Network Simulation. He is author of more than 200 peer-reviewed papers and was ranked the 25th most productive Cloud Computing researcher worldwide. His expertise is reflected by his appointment as expert evaluator and reviewer of the European Commission (FP5, FP6, FP7, and H2020) and several other European research and funding organizations (e.g. INRIA). Further he has been a member and chair of hundreds of program committees of conferences.
