Research interests
Erika Faigen joined the research group of Michaela Trippl as Marie Skłodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellow with the project 'GloRI' to develop a perspective on resource-making with R&D on mineral-based materials in June 2022. Her research interests are international political economy, global (re)production networks and value chains of mineral-based materials and components, such as rare earth element (REE)-alloys in permanent magnets and lithium-ion batteries in the context of energy system transformations. She was awarded a PhD in Geography from the University of Copenhagen and has since conducted research at the Centre for Minerals and Materials (MiMa) at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), at Monash University, and most recently with Durham University.
