My current research is passionately centered on the metabolic transformations induced by ketogenic diets and fasting. I am particularly fascinated by the role of uncoupling proteins and ketone bodies in this process, exploring how these elements contribute to energy efficiency and metabolic health. Additionally, I am involved in the SFB program "Immuno-metabolism," where my focus is on unraveling the critical function of uncoupling proteins in macrophage polarization. This work not only advances our understanding of metabolic pathways but also sheds light on their implications in broader health contexts.
