Personal profile

Research interests

My research combines laboratory-based molecular genetic methods, human genomics, immunogenetics, population and evolutionary genetics. I am very interested in understanding human genomic diversity, what such diversity implies about human evolutionary history, genetic adaptation, and phenotypic traits. Furthermore, I am interested in understanding what immunogenetic diversity exists in natural populations and how this diversity is related to disease resistance and fitness.

Current Research Interests
-- Human population genetics, natural selection, genetic adaptation
-- Immunogenetics / HLA and KIR genetics
-- Evolutionary and population genetic history of hunter-gatherer societies in Southeast Asia
