Abstract
The trend of automatization and digitalization has impacts in the field of transportation and will lead to changes. Planning as well as policies will need a resilient basis to face the upcoming challenges to make efficient and long-lasting investment decisions. To prepare both mobility systems and the society, it is of utmost significance to determine the effects and the usage of automatic vehicles (level 4 and 5) before their market launch phase in public space, especially according to the utility for different user groups.
The current F&E-service “AM inclusive!” investigates possible potentials and effects of automatic mobility (AM) on equal opportunities and inclusion within Austria to develop a profound knowledge and discussion basis about (possible) opportunities and (possible) risks.
For this project, an inter- and transdisciplinary team of several representatives from different fields gathered:
•Technique and Planning (mobility- and landscape planning)
•Social sciences (sociology, gender studies, diversity management)
•Austrian Disability Council as stakeholder for more than 1.4 million impaired people in Austria
These representatives work together to achieve best results between the poles of automatic mobility (AM) and inclusion.
The aim is to develop perspectives, scenarios and recommendations of how to implement and expedite automatic mobility (AM) in Austria in the near future in mobility and FTI-politics regarding equal opportunities and inclusion. There will be two perspectives of time: the first one will run until the year 2030 and the other one starts
