Project Details

Abstract

Personalized Recommendations for Neurodegenerative Disease, under the project acronym ‘VirtualBrainCloud’ is a multiparty EU-funded project.

The aim of the project is to bridge the gap between computational neuroscience and subcellular systems biology and integrate the research of both fields to create a unified computational model to support personalised patient diagnostics and treatment in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s dementia. In doing this, the VirtualBrainCloud project intends to develop a decision support system that provides multi-disciplinary data for use in clinical practice.

The intended end result is the creation of a cloud-based simulation platform to support personalised diagnostics and treatments in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.

In achieving this outcome, it is necessary ensure that the project is in line with existing legislation on personal data protection and ethical issues, in particular in cloud-based operations and data exchange mechanisms.
