Smart Aggregation and Visualisation of Health Data

Project: Research funding

Project Details

Abstract

Mediatization and digitalization transform patterns of professional interaction. Hospital information systems (HIS) that aim to assist health care professionals in administering and interpreting the health data of their patients constitute an important paradigm to illustrate these processes. Health care professionals, however, interpret the interface between computer systems and human users as an additional burden, and the collection of relevant information is often running into cognitive and temporal limits.

The SMARAGD project aims at showing how an intelligent system of patient data aggregation and visualization matching the needs of specific health professions is to be constructed. Moreover, it aims at achieving the technical proof of concept for such a system. Results are to improve human-computer-interaction and enhance communication between members of different health professions.
