Abstract
This paper presents an interactive extension to the ELECTRE multi-attribute decision technique, which is motivated by difficulties in specifying the threshold levels required by this method. We develop two theorems on the connection between threshold levels and the set of non-outranked alternatives and introduce an interactive algorithm in which alternatives are successively eliminated by threshold modifications. We also present an implementation of this algorithm in an interactive decision support system, which provides a user friendly interface to further reduce cognitive strain on the decision maker.
