Abstract
The dwarf bulrush (Typha minima Funck ex hoppe) is a characteristic pioneer plant whose natural ranges are alpine wild river landscapes. Due to river regulations and the construction of hydropower plants Typha minima and its dynamic habitats are highly endangered. After its disappearance at the upper drau river in carinthia, Typha minima got resettled with initial plantation. The field investigations show that Typha minima has established at seven river sections at the upper drau river in the study year 2014. Totally an obvious increase of the occurrence area from 923m² (2011) to 3787m² (2014) can be detected. In total the resettlement of Typha minima in the European nature reserve upper drau can be classified as successful. To sustain the pioneer plant in the European nature reserve upper drau as a stabile metapopulation in a long-term, a combination of resettlements and further restorations measures is necessary, which is given with appropriate recommendations as part of this work.
