Abstract

Austria is a country of many languages. They are not only spoken by minorities and migrants, but - in the form of dialects - also by Austrians. The linguists Stephan Elspaß and Stefan-Michael Newerkla said in an interview with the APA that language diversity enriches the country. At the "Conference on Language Variation in Europe" ("ICLaVE|11") in Vienna on 11 April, they will speak about mutually influencing languages in Austria.
