Abstract
In March 2025, we recorded Crossidium crassinervium (De Not.) Jur. on the Braunsberg (Lower Austria), a species previously unreported in Austria. It was found on a southwest-facing, vertical slope composed of calcareous sandy clay. In this article, we describe the locality and morphological characters of the species. Due to its presumed rarity and the threat posed by feral domestic sheep at the locality, the species should be considered critically endangered in Austria. At the European level, it is classified as “Least Concern”.
