We thank the EANM committees, EANM national delegates for their review, suggestions and comments. The authors (G.L. and P.E.) thank Prof. dr. A.D. Windhorst for sharing his expertise on Am. Preamble : The European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) is a professional non-profit medical association that facilitates communication worldwide among individuals pursuing clinical and research excellence in nuclear medicine. The EANM was founded in 1985. This EANM guideline has been written by members who are selected on the basis of their scientific good standing and active engagement with relevant scientific societies. This guideline is intended to assist professionals to correctly define and measure molar activity (Am) and specific activity (As), discuss common pitfalls and good practice in the production and measurement of radiotracers with high Am and is written in accordance with the recently published consensus nomenclature rules (Coenen et al. 2017). Scope : Several classes of compounds such as small molecules, peptides and macromolecules radiolabelled for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
