Abstract
Mythological creatures — ambivalent and antagonist spirits — are sometimes conceived of as humans’ invisible enemies — tempters, wreckers, agents of diseases. They help explain many cataclysms and disasters — from personal to global ones. Demonology appears on every level of culture — from scholarly theology to folklore. The anthology deals with images, motives and plots, related to demons in different religions, folklore art and literature of the world.
