From anomaly to landscape - a multi-method approach for archaeological landscape models

Publications: Contribution to journalMeeting abstract/Conference paperPeer Reviewed

Abstract

This paper introduces an integrated approach that moves beyond individual geophysical anomalies to construct comprehensive archaeological landscape models. By integrating geophysical surveys, historical maps, satellite imagery, digital elevation models, and soil data within a GIS framework, the study contextualizes archaeological features within their broader environmental and cultural settings. This holistic perspective enables a deeper understanding of human-environment interactions and long-term landscape dynamics, such as settlement shifts and environmental changes.
