Abstract

This study investigates horizontal and vertical connections in a sequence of four omens from Tablet 44 of the astrological omen series Enūma Anu Enlil, “When Anu and Enlil”. The aim is to show the role of graphic, phonological and semantic repetitions as structural devices arranging the omens in a coherent thematic sequence.
