Abstract
A total of more than 50 pellet bells and bells dating to the Avar period belong to the archaeological collection of
the Rippl-Rónai Museum in Kaposvár. They were investigated within the frame of the research project “Metallic
Idiophones between 800 BC and 800 AD in Central Europe”, in an interdisciplinary and cross-national cooperation between Austria and Hungary. The results, gained through archaeological, archaeometric, acoustic,
psychoacoustic methods and experimental textile archaeology are presented here.
