Abstract

The data sets were measured at an LTER site in the eastern reed belt of Lake Neusiedl near the Biological station Illmitz in Austria. The site includes an eddy covariance tower with biometeorological measurements.
- Observed and gap-filled carbon fluxes: Net ecosystem exchange (NEE) with its two components gross primary production (GPP) and ecosystem respiration (Reco) as well as methane (CH4) fluxes.
- Biometeorological parameters: Air temperature (Tair), relative humidity (rH), air pressure (PA), water vapor pressure deficit (VPD), absolute water vapor pressure (ea), saturated water vapor pressure (es), shortwave incoming radiation (SWin), shortwave outgoing radiation (SWout), longwave incoming radiation (LWin), longwave outgoing radiation (LWout), photosynthetically active photon flux density (PPFD), net radiation (Rn), wind speed (WS), maximum wind speed (WSmax), wind direction (WD) and precipitation (P).
- Sediment parameters at three depths (5, 10 and 15 cm): Sediment temperature (Ts), sediment water content (SWC) and sediment heat flux (SHF).
- Water parameters based on data from the Hydrographic Service Burgenland (German: Hydrographischer Dienst): Water temperature (Tw) and water level (WL) of Lake Neusiedl Biological station Illmitz, ground water depth (GW) from the landward edge of the reed belt of Lake Neusiedl.
- Monthly maximum vegetation indices of the reed belt from MODIS from 2018 to 2022: Enhanced vegetation index (EVI), normalized differentiated vegetation index (NDVI) and leaf area index (LAI).
- Green chromatic coordinates (GCC) of the Phenocam in the reed belt from mid-September 2020 to 2022.
- Drought index SPEI (standardized precipitation evapotranspiration index) of the reed belt of Lake Neusiedl from 1992-2022 using daily mean Tair & P sum from UBA (2023) for calculation.
