Abstract
Two- and three-qubit cases are given to illustrate several important points. First, with regard to state preparation, N observables suffice to define any of the listed basis states completely. Second, with regard to the determination of a general, possibly mixed state, recall the 4N-1 real parameters are required to specify the N-qubit density matrix completely.
