title = "Size independence of the strength of snow",
abstract = "The mechanical reliability of 600 randomly taken snow samples was studied. The scale parameter evaluated by the maximum likelihood method increases nearly quadratically with the density of snow but is independent of size and shape of the specimen. It was found that there is no size dependence of the strength of snow. It was also found that Weibull parameter was independent of density, size, and shape of the snow sample.",
