Sociable Robots: From Reliability to Cooperative-Mindedness

Publications: Contribution to bookContribution to proceedingsPeer Reviewed

Abstract

Robots are entering service-based areas of our societies, which raises new issues. The question seems to be whether robots can graduate from reliable aids to truly cooperative-minded partners. This paper aims at addressing this question by making a couple of relevant conceptual distinctions while suggesting a certain view concerning the kind or nature of the relation in question.
