The Piacenzian otolith assemblages of Androlykou are mixed assemblages consisting of very shallow (200 m) components, indicating topographical steepness of the study area, proximity to the coast and easy access to the open sea. Apart from the paleobathymetry, this conclusion is supported by the substratum affinities of the fish species in the assemblages.
